Reveries
It has been a bit chaotic lately,
All textures of screams are settling down in my head,
The relentless sun shows up despite all else.
Like a frenzied, uncontrolled ‘chakkar’,
The world seems to have lost its clock-hands,
The morose moon calms it all down.
The desire to break away is tiring, too.
I hear motions of softness, stillness, slowness stitched in time.
The mellow banter from the neighborhood makes it too real.
The winds howl and grieve so many memories,
Somewhere, tears have run dry,
A few new voices find their space amid all those screams.
The sudden joy out of nowhere depletes all my strength,
The fear of this pale phantom,
The stars dim the sorrow.
It has been a bit chaotic lately,
The screams are here to stay,
Thankfully, the fireflies are performing a vestigial ballet.
